My Love <3

I met Cain in February 2010. I guess you could say it was a blind date. My friend had text me and asked if I wanted to go out with her, her husband, and her husbands friend. He was in town visiting before he left in March to go to Iraq for a year. (Cain was in the Army.) Of course, I said yes. I needed a night out, not having many friends I didn’t get many of these nights.

They picked me up later that evening and we went to Applebee’s to eat dinner. Of course, this being in Fort Smith, AR, the service was horrible and I believe they got half of our order wrong. After that mess we headed to Midland Bowl. I am a horrible bowler, like I literally throw the ball. I don’t roll it, I throw it and then it lands and rolls. After bowling for a view, my friends needed to get back home so they could pick up their little boy. So we headed back to their house to hang out for a few. Nothing much happened during this time. Cain finally drove me home later that night.

He hung out that whole weekend. That week though he went to Dallas to spend with his parents. The whole time we text. We were texting like we had known each other for awhile. He was suppose to stay at his parents longer then he did, but I guess either he thought he was going to “get some” or he really liked me because he came back to Arkansas for that last weekend. That’s when we had our first “date”, at Taco Bell.

He left back to Kansas, but we still were texting non stop and I missed him. A guy I had only known a week and a half and I missed him. That’s when my stepdad got the idea that we travel up to Kansas and see him before he leaves. At first I thought that it was weird, to drive that far to see someone you barely knew. But we did it. We got a rental car and went to Kansas.

That weekend there was amazing. I met his parents, who are super sweet. We didn’t do much that weekend, but run around and do last minute errands that he needed to get done. He showed us around base and where his barracks were. That weekend went too fast. The day we had to leave was hard. I didn’t want to leave. He wasn’t leaving until the next day, but since I had to work and had the long drive, we had to leave.

That night we started texting again and decided then that we were going to officially call us a couple. I’m sure people thought I was crazy, but when you find that one person you just know. I waited a year for him to get back. We skyped and emailed each other all year. Personally I think that is why we have made it this long. We got to know each other. We grew to love each other for what was in the inside, not on the out.

We became official on March 8, 2010 and are still going strong.                                                  On December 25, 2012 he proposed, of course I said yes!                                                          May 18,2014 is when we will be married.

I couldn’t have asked for a better person to spend my life with. He is the one for me and always will be.
